Jennifer Grundy

Certified Feline Training and Behavior Specialist

Jennifer is a Certified Feline Behavior and Training Specialist, educated and certified through The Animal Behavior Institute (ABI). Her training was an intensive program that focused solely on the feline, with an emphasis on behavior patterns, causes, and treatment methods, training techniques, enrichment, feline history, physiology, health issues, nutrition and CPR/First Aid. She is trained to develop individual treatment plans to address behavior problems, and to redirect and train cats using positive reinforcement methods.

Jennifer began her work with cats as a volunteer at KittyKind in Manhattan's Union Square, where she spent over three years cleaning cages, soothing stressed cats, and answering the public's questions. She also traveled to foster homes throughout the five boroughs to photograph the cats and helped write online adoption profiles. It was during this time that she got to know one of the foster moms who dedicated her home and life to rescuing and caring for FIV/FeLV+ cats, an unforgettable education in compassion and specific care needs. A few years after moving to Milwaukee, she found herself caring for and managing the feral cats in her yard through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). Not only did she TNR them, she also socialized them and found forever homes for several kittens in the colony. Today, she continues to  provide daily care for three colony members.

Jennifer spent three years as a Cat Concierge and later as Operations Manager at Sip & Purr, the first cat cafe in Milwaukee, providing daily care for the cats who come to the cafe from their partner, Lakeland Animal Shelter (Delavan, WI), as well as international rescues. She had the pleasure of assisting with hundreds of adoptions during her time there.

In addition to her certification through ABI, Jennifer is a professionally trained actor (a graduate of the New Actors Workshop, a conservatory in Manhattan), and graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

She lives with her partner, Gil, and their cat family, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
